Thoughts For A Thursday

by Billie on February 24, 2011

This little boy loves yogurt- or as he calls it ‘gogurt’.

The entire patronage of the grocery store last night learned this as I mistakenly passed by the yogurt area (which I usually avoid like the plaque when Cayden is with me) during our grocery run.

I tried to walk on the other side of the aisle.

I tried to strategically stop the cart where his view of the massive wall of yogurts would be obstructed.

I tried to divert his attention to the bread.  Because my son likes bread too.

That worked for 2 milliseconds.

“GOGURT MAMA. GOOOGGURRRTTTT!”  Screamed my very loud and determined 2 year old as he pointed to the yogurt area he had spotted.

Red went my face.

Beet red.

As red as a darker complected persons face can get.

So in an effort to silence his screams and divert the attention away from my little boy and myself, I got him a package of yogurt.

This was all and well until it came time to check out and the cashier needed to ring the yogurt up.

It wasn’t a pretty sight.  I’ll leave it at that.

I believe the cashier is scarred for life.

In fact, and I say this confidently, no body in that grocery store last night will ever look at yogurt the same.

In the end, this little boy had his yogurt with dinner and he loved it.

Incase you were wondering, that is the look of sheer yogurt bliss…

You like the demolished yogurt cup used as a glove, don’t you?

I’m off to clean yogurt off the high chair now,

At least yogurt is healthy for him. It’s good to start him young on good eating.

Hopping over here from Thirsty Thursday. I’m a new follower.
